Saros, developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, is an upcoming third-person action game set to release on March 20, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5. 

🧬 Story & Setting

Set on the mysterious planet Carcosa, Saros follows Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer portrayed by actor Rahul Kohli. The narrative delves into themes of identity, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a better future. Players will navigate a world shrouded in an eternal eclipse, uncovering secrets of a lost off-world colony.

⚔️ Gameplay Mechanics

Saros builds upon the gameplay foundations of Housemarque's previous title, Returnal, while introducing unique features:

• Persistent Progression: Unlike traditional roguelikes, Saros offers permanent upgrades to weapons and suit enhancements, allowing players to strengthen Arjun with each death. 
• Combat Systems: The game introduces a new shield mechanic that absorbs enemy projectiles, enabling counterattacks. Additionally, a "Second Chance" revive ability provides players with opportunities to continue their journey after setbacks. 
• Visual & Performance Enhancements: Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Saros is optimized for PlayStation 5, delivering high-quality graphics and performance. The game is also enhanced for the PlayStation 5 Pro.

During the September 2025 State of Play event, Housemarque unveiled an extended gameplay trailer, offering a glimpse into the game's mechanics and atmosphere. The trailer showcases the game's dynamic combat, environmental storytelling, and the haunting world of Carcosa.
