On July 10, Elon Musk’s xAI launched Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy, claiming PhD-level performance in academic tasks. Grok 4 Heavy uses multiple AI agents like a “study group” for better problem-solving.

xAI also introduced SuperGrok Heavy, a $300 month subscription that offers premium access and early features.

Grok 4 Heavy outperformed Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro and OpenAI’s o3 in benchmark tests. However, the launch follows controversy over Grok’s recent antisemitic responses, which xAI said it’s working to fix.
