Perplexity AI has unveiled Comet, a new AI-powered web browser built for researchers and heavy internet users. Unlike Chrome or Edge, Comet integrates Perplexity’s AI at its core, offering a seamless, chat-like browsing experience.

Its standout feature, Comet Assistant, can summarize emails, manage tabs, read web pages, and automate tasks like scheduling meetings or checking calendars. Instead of traditional tabs, Comet uses a smart workspace and remembers user activity to offer relevant content.

Currently, access is limited to early waitlist users or those on the $200month Max plan. Broader availability is expected  soon.
