🔑 What Is Hype?

✅ Viewers can “Hype” a video up to 3 times per week for free

Hype button appears just below the Like button

✅ Creators with less than 500,000 subscribers qualify

✅ Hyped videos climb the Top 100 Leaderboard in India under the Explore tab

💡 Why It Matters:

🔹 Smaller creators often struggle with getting seen. Google India says Hype makes the YouTube game fairer for all.

🔹 Bonus points for creators with fewer subscribers means real support for India’s upcoming YouTubers! 🙌

⚙️ How It Works:

🎯 Only the first 7 days after a video is uploaded count for Hype points.

🏆 More Hypes = Higher Rank on the India-specific leaderboard.

🏅 Top videos get special badges showing they’re loved by viewers and can even appear on the YouTube homepage.

🌎 Global Rollout Background:

YouTube first tested Hype in Turkey, Taiwan, and Brazil. Over 50,000 channels received more than 5 million Hypes in just 4 weeks.

Now, creators in India get their turn to join the leaderboard and boost channel growth.
