Hi everyone!
It has been quite a while since I posted here. I wanted to share my experience on the different countries I have visited so far. As a student in Germany, I am able to take advantage of the "Deutschland Ticket", a monthly pass for unlimited regional trains to get around easily. I was able to capture all my memories in these countries through my dear old iQOO 7. Read along as I share some of them!
1. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is extemely beautiful, it almost seems unrealistic due to its stellar architecture. Every street that I passed by had buildings that gave me a feeling that I was in the early 1900s. Budapest is separated by the Danube river that flows through ~10 countries - one side named Buda and the other Pest, together making up the wonderful city of Budapest. From the exotic ruin bars to their majestic Parliament building, there is always something to be excited about in this city, which makes Budapest one of the best places to spend time during a vacation.
2. Sofia, Bulgaria
This country was never on my list, until I ended up making a mistake on my booking which led me here. I must say, Sofia wasn't bad at all! It is popular for the Alexander Nevsky cathedral, named after the Russian prince Alexander Nevsky as they honor the Russian soldiers led by him that died during the war to send the Turkish (Ottoman) out of Bulgaria.
This country might not have a lot of museums or eye-catching structures, but it holds a very strong historic importance. Bulgaria contributes around 70% of the world's rose oil supply production. Roses are deep-rooted in their culture, you'll find a lot of rose-made cosmetics and others everywhere. Overall, Sofia was nice, but there might be more attractive cities in the country, likely towards the Black sea.
3. Liechtenstein
Ah, speaking of this country brings back memories. It's one of the smallest countries in the world, yet one of the wealthiest nations with the second highest GDP per-capita in Europe. You might have not even heard of this this place, but the landscapes here are simply treat to the eyes. The country lies among the Alps between Switzerland and Austria. I stayed with a local family there, and they were such amazing people. Not only them, but I also had a really good conversation with plenty of locals there, and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Right outside my room I could see myself surrounded by snowy mountains. It felt like I am in a dream. There are no border controls while entering the country, yet it feels very safe to live and/or work here. I have had a lot of amazing experiences here, but in order to keep the thread short - it is a wonderful, wonderful country to visit.
4. Luxembourg
Another small yet rich country, Luxembourg is very diverse; from the Portuguese to the French and Belgian speakers occupying ~20% of the population. This country is quite modern and busy, so you'll always be able to see people moving around. Perhaps due to the high wages, there are quite many employees that work here. Due to the small size, I decided to step out and visit other parts of the country, and not just stick to the city of Luxembourg. Visiting the other places is what made the trip worth it, as I was not too amazed by Luxembourg city, though it did have museums and some really nice structures among others. Fun fact: Public transportation in this country is completely FREE.
5. Belgium
I made the trip from Germany-Luxembourg-Belgium-Netherlands-Germany at a single stretch. In Belgium, I stayed for about 5-7 days and explored various cities such as Brussels, Ghent, Bruges, and a bit of Leuven. The old town in Brussels is definitely a highlight - it was jaw-dropping and I mean it. You are surrounded by buildings built with perfection and architectural masterpiece. I just couldn't believe what I was taking photos of. Apart from the old town, Brussels also has a number of museums and things to do. I liked Bruges more due to its old-style architecture everywhere around, they have kept their historical structures intact and it just feels good when you step into the town. Ofcourse, how can you leave Belgium without trying out their waffles? ;)
That's all from this part of the thread, I hope you enjoyed reading. Let me know what you think in the comments. See you in the next one!
