PlayStation Plus subscribers now have the chance to snag the August 2025 free games for their digital libraries. Every month, PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to a fresh batch of free games. The PS Plus monthly free games are available to subscribers across all three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium, and can be kept as long as one stays subscribed to the service.

The free PS Plus games aren't the only freebies that PS Plus subscribers can claim. To help celebrate the PlayStation Plus 15th Anniversary, Sony is also giving away free avatars. The free avatars are based on fan-favorite PlayStation games, with Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, God of War Ragnarok, and Twisted Metal all represented.

Those who are signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers have even more to look forward to this month. On August 19, Sword of the Sea will be added to PS Plus Extra as a day one game. It will be joined by a slew of other new Extra and Premium titles, but subscribers will have to wait for the official announcement to know what's coming for sure
