The feature, will allow viewers to make live predictions about what will happen next in a VCT match, with rewards for correct calls.
Riot Games introduces a new Twitch extension for Valorant called Shotcall, which will enhance the watch experience of Valorant esports competitions by allowing fans to use their knowledge about the game to win rewards. Shotcall is a desktop-only feature, which is currently under development and will be available in beta form in four sessions of VCT.
Shotcall enables live viewers to predict what will happen next during a VCT match, correct calls earn you points that help you climb the leaderboard ladder. You will compete against other fans to make correct real-time predictions, while enjoying the usual VCT action.
All you have to do, to participate is tune in on any of the three official VCT Americas Twitch streams and look for the Shotcall overlay which looks like a red crystal ball symbol icon which should shows up on the top left corner of your screen, connect your Riot ID and Twitch accounts. After logging in viewers will be able to lock their prediction answers that will appear at critical points in the game, such as which team will take a round, who will secure the first kill, or the number of kills the player will score in the next round.
Correct predictions will earn you rewards, with the reward based on the strength of the call. The points you earn will go towards a leaderboard, challenging fans against each other to reach and stay on top. While Riot has assured participants will be rewarded, there will be only one reward across all the beta stages for now. Future releases, however, would see additional and varied rewards as the extension will be refined with time and expanded to more leagues and languages in future.
