Following an orchestrated "Admin War" between two of the most popular games in the platform's history, Roblox managed to hit a record-breaking 47.4 million concurrent players, making it the most-used gaming platform of all time. Roblox has seen a number of breakout titles in recent years, and in spite of controversy surrounding user safety, the game creation platform has cemented an impressive legacy for itself with this new achievement.
According to a LinkedIn post by Roblox Strategy Consultant James Purell, data from an internal group known as Offpath shows a massive total of 47.4 million concurrent users on Roblox in Q3 2025, which marks the highest concurrent player count of all time on any gaming platform. Purell points to break-out hits Steal a Brainrot and Grow a Garden as the two most engaging games, boasting 20 million and 21.1 million concurrent users, respectively, in Q3 2025.
The creators of the two games had fueled a so-called Admin War with social media gibes at one another and their respective games, which in turn fueled fan enthusiasm and drove player counts on Roblox to these record highs. Purell applauded both titles and others on Roblox, stating that "these developers are creating the content that keeps 47M people engaged."
The all-time highest concurrent player count record has come as a welcome celebration for Roblox, which has recently been embroiled in controversy surrounding concerns about player safety.
A number of lawsuits against the Roblox Corporation by concerned parents and even the US state of Louisiana have highlighted potential flaws in Roblox's safety features, which Purell acknowledges as valid concerns.
However, Purell emphasized the importance of supporting the independent creators behind popular games like Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot and suggested fans should avoid letting executive complications dampen the success of user-made content.
Online gaming platforms continue to draw in millions of players, with game creation tools and sandbox gameplay with multiplayer drawing in undeniably impressive user counts. While many are still hoping to see improvements to platforms like Roblox when it comes to player safety, audiences are happy to support small creators' games while helping to set new records.
