Hey Questers!

Dream11 has officially told BCCI that it will no longer sponsor the Indian cricket team jersey.

Sponsorship Details

• Dream11 started sponsoring Team India in July 2023.
• The deal was for three years and worth Rs 358 crore (about 44 million US dollars).
• Dream11 agreed to pay Rs 3 crore for every home match and Rs 1 crore for every away match.

Why Did Dream11 Pull Out?

• The new Indian law banned real money gaming and stopped promotion of such apps.
• Dream11 lost almost all its income because its main business is now banned.
• Because the business is banned, Dream11 decided to end the sponsorship early.

What About Penalties?

• Dream11 will not have to pay any penalty because their contract has a clause protecting them if government rules affect their business.
• BCCI is now looking for new sponsors for Team India.
