After exploring the Thiksey Monastery, we continued our journey and made a brief stop at the Stakna Monastery.
Though we admired it from the outside, its picturesque setting made for some stunning captures. We took group photos in front of the monastery and then moved towards the Indus River bridge nearby, where we clicked a mix of photos and videos against the scenic backdrop. It was a light, fun-filled halt before we resumed our ride to the next major stop.
By 1:00 PM, we reached Camp Kharu, an inspiring initiative under the Royal Enfield Social Mission. The camp is run entirely by women and is dedicated to promoting Ice Hockey in Leh-Ladakh. As we explored, we saw an impressive collection of medals, photographs of players, and equipment that celebrated the region's growing love for this unique sport. There was also a small setup where we could purchase Ice Hockey-related merchandise, giving us a closer connection to the local culture and passion.
Soon after, we made our way to the rooftop café at Camp Kharu, where a delicious lunch awaited us. The experience was made even more special by the fact that the entire village follows an eggetarian lifestyle, so we enjoyed a wholesome vegetarian meal prepared with great care. The food was comforting, the rooftop setting was refreshing, and naturally, we captured plenty of photos to remember the moment.
Before leaving, our gracious hosts surprised us with some QOOL Royal Enfield goodies, which added an extra spark of joy to the day. We thanked them for their warmth and hospitality, and with happy hearts, we set off towards our next destination.
To be continued in Part Three…
