No Man's Sky has released a new Experimental Branch following the release of its massive Voyagers update. While making big waves in the player community with its customizable ships, the free expansion to No Man's Sky seems to have come with a list of problems, and volunteer players in its Experimental mode will be the first to ensure things are now working properly.

The latest expansion for No Man's Sky was released on August 27. While it comes with some fun extras like a Skyborn exosuit and jetpack, the bulk of the Voyagers update is dedicated to letting players build their own bespoke ships from a selection of hundreds of modular parts and connectors, using a new construction workshop that can be located inside the game's space stations.

Unlike the game's classic starships, these new models feature full interiors that can be decorated and stocked with amenities, and for the first time, players are free to float around outside their ships while in space.

Voyagers seems to be a massive hit among the game's fans, but the patch notes for Experimental Branch 29/08 show that the update hasn't come without its problems. A total of 60 fixes and changes are listed, and while No Man's Sky's Corvette system is a major game-changer, issues concerning the custom ships only account for a little over half of the list.

Among the more serious issues are Corvettes failing to dock with space stations when the internal docks are full, the pulse drive switching off when players get up from the pilot's seat, parts becoming unusable after being deleted in the construction workshop, and Corvettes unexpectedly acting like they've experienced a major collision when flying through open space. There are also some visual bug fixes, like Corvette weapon effects clipping the screen when fired in a first-person view and cockpits appearing as solid black in the user interface.

While they're checking to make sure issues like have been resolved, Experimental players also get to enjoy some of the early changes that should make Corvettes fit into the game's universe even better than before. These include the addition of a teleporter in No Man's Sky's Atlas Station that will allow them to return to their docked Corvettes, and Corvette Construction Workshops in abandoned and pirate Space Stations

Along with adjustments to features in the Voyagers update, some general stability fixes have been added to Experimental. The patch notes make mention of multiple resolved crash issues related to particle rendering, frigate expeditions, combat effects, autopilot, summoning ships, exocrafts, and warping, along with new issues that have arisen from players trying to switch between two Corvettes at a space station or loading the Space Anomaly when they have a large base. These changes and fixes will likely make their debut in the game's current main build soon.
