I hope you’re all doing great. Recently, I shared a thread about the Gaming Thiruvizha focusing on the amazing moments with iQOO Team Tamilas. Now it’s time to share the overall experience of this grand festival in Namma Chennai. So, let’s get started!
The Gaming Festival aka Gaming Thiruvizha was organized by Skyesports, one of India’s leading esports organizations.
What made it special was that this was their very first Gaming Festival in Chennai, blending esports action with a festival vibe. For me, it felt like a historic moment for the city and thanks to iQOO, I got the chance to be there and witness it all. 🙌
The festival had something for everyone from high-end PC gaming setups to intense mobile gaming battles. But the part that really touched me was the nostalgic board games.
After years, playing them again brought back so many childhood memories. It was refreshing to experience games in real life, face to face, rather than just on a screen.
Another big highlight for me was Cosplay! 🎭✨ I’ve always loved seeing cosplayers bring characters to life, and this event had some of my favorites—like Star Wars characters and more. What surprised me the most? Spotting cosplayers using iQOO smartphones—a perfect blend of pop culture and tech! 📱🔥
I also had the chance to meet and click selfies with content creators from Tamil Nadu, including Vikram Vikkals and a few other creators from YouTube and Instagram. It felt amazing to connect with them in person.
Adding to the variety,A gaming event without a chess in the chess capital of India no way Red Bull hosted a vibrant chess tournament, which drew a lot of attention. The setup looked super cool, and even though I couldn’t watch the entire session, it was clear the audience enjoyed every moment. ♟️
The festival also featured several stalls—from esports orgs like iQOO Team Tamilas, Autobots Esports, Welt Esports, and others, to food stalls and merchandise booths. From anime figures and magazines to cosplay gear and collectibles, there was something exciting at every corner.
At the main stage, something was happening almost every hour. From fun activities to engaging discussions, the vibe was electric.
A standout moment was the live comedy show by comedians like Vikram Vikals who kept the audience laughing nonstop. There were also insightful sessions on Tamil gaming development, highlighting the local talent shaping the industry.
Overall, the Gaming Thiruvizha in Chennai was a huge success. For two days straight, the city was alive with love for esports, gaming, and cosplay. Kudos to Skyesports for making this happen! I also got to meet their founder, Shiva bro, who was welcoming and truly inspiring.
I sincerely hope that in the future, iQOO also organizes such festivals—in Chennai, and across the TN states —so that more people can experience the magic of gaming on this scale.
