Xbox has maintained a significant Tokyo Game Show presence in recent years. While its September showcases have primarily focused on confirming new Xbox Game Pass additions and providing updates on previously announced titles, they have also been fairly consistent at yielding at least a few new game reveals each year.

Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 Broadcast Confirmed for September 25

Xbox is now confirmed to be returning to the 2025 iteration of the Tokyo Game Show. Its contribution to this year's event will materialize in the form of a broadcast scheduled for September 25, beginning at 3pm PT / 6am ET / 12pm CET / 7pm JST.

As per usual, Microsoft will be streaming its showcase in a dozen languages, including English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, and ASL. A full recap of the event will be made available on Xbox Wire immediately afterward. Todd Kaumans, the executive producer of the Xbox Premier Broadcasts team, has teased the upcoming show on social media as something fans "don't want to miss."

As is tradition, Microsoft is keeping the event agenda close to the chest. The 2024 edition of Tokyo Game Show saw the company shadow-drop four Xbox Game Pass titles: All You Need Is Help, Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, and We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie. It was also used to announce that StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2 would be coming to PC Game Pass in November 2024. Another batch of Xbox Game Pass is thus likely on the cards for this year's event as well.

Due to the likelihood of Xbox Game Pass-related news at the upcoming showcase, the official Wave 2 lineup announcement for September 2025 could end up feeling a little light on the content. That reveal is most likely to happen on the third Tuesday of the month, which falls on September 16. So far, only two titles are known to be included in the Wave 2 roster: Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and the Xbox Series X/S port of Frostpunk 2, scheduled to arrive on September 17 and 18, respectively.
