Valve has officially announced the location of the next The International. In 2026, the main Dota 2 tournament will run in China, Shanghai. The announcement was made by Gabe Newell in a recorded video after short film contest.

The location was previously reported as a rumor by YouTuber and content maker Konstantin Doroshchenok, the author of the KD All IN channel.

The International 2026 will be the second event in the series to be hosted in China. In the past, Valve chose Shanghai as the place for TI9. They also hosted a CS2 Major at the end of 2024 in that city. Back then, no local team made it to the grand final. PSG.LGD was knocked out in the lower bracket final by Team Liquid, who in turn were beaten by OG.
