Hey Questers,
Big news in the tech world 🚨 – Qualcomm is launching its next flagship chip, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, next week at the Snapdragon Summit!
Let’s break down what’s new 👇
This chip uses Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores in an 8-core (2+6) setup.
2 Performance cores clocked at a crazy 4.6+ GHz 🚀
6 Performance cores around 3.6 GHz.
There’s also talk of a “for Galaxy” version with even higher clocks (~4.74 GHz 👀).
The chip is manufactured on TSMC’s N3P 3nm node → more efficient, more powerful, and optimized for sustained performance ⚡
Cache memory has jumped from 24MB to 32MB (16+16).
Bigger cache = faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and better gaming performance 🎮
The new Adreno 840 GPU is clocked at 1.2 GHz (vs 1.1 GHz on previous gen).
Expect higher FPS, more stable gaming, and console-like visuals 🔥
The NPU is rumored to deliver 100+ TOPS of AI power.
This means faster on-device AI features, real-time translations, photo enhancements, and next-gen GenAI experiences.
📊 Geekbench 6.4 (Xiaomi 17 Pro test):
Single-core: 3,831
Multi-core: 11,525
That’s a huge leap compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite (~3,179 / 10,114).
Next-gen flagships will see massive CPU & GPU power.
Gaming will feel smoother than ever on iQOO phones 🔥.
AI features will be smarter and faster.
All this with better efficiency thanks to 3nm refinement.
❓Now the big question:
Do you think Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will make 2026 Android flagships truly unbeatable, or will Apple’s chips still give tough competition? 🍎📱
