  Hey iQOO family !!!

How's all doing hope you are doing well and questing like a super quester ....

Gboard, Google’s virtual keyboard for Android, introduces a major update in September 2025 featuring advanced AI-powered writing tools, new flick gesture key input, and refined visual enhancements. These new features make it easier than ever to write, revise, and express ideas efficiently across any app.

Google is currently testing and rolling out several new Gboard features, most notably AI-powered writing tools, a “flick keys to enter symbols” gesture, and customizable keyboard layouts, aiming to enhance writing productivity and input speed on Android devices.

Gboard AI Writing Tools

The new “Writing Tools” are powered by Google’s Gemini AI and are designed to help revise, proofread, and rephrase text directly within Gboard.

Users can tap the magic wand icon in Gboard to access options like proofread, rephrase, elaborate, and set tones such as professional, friendly, or concise.

All text processing takes place on-device, ensuring privacy and data safety.

This feature was previously exclusive to Pixel devices but is now expanding to more Android phones.

These tools can correct grammar, spelling, and suggest style changes across any app that uses Gboard, including WhatsApp, email, and social media.

Flick Keys and Other Input Features

Gboard is introducing a “flick keys to enter symbols” feature, letting users quickly enter a symbol by swiping (flicking) down on a key, similar to mechanisms on iPad keyboards.

This input style aims to reduce typing friction and make symbol entry faster and more ergonomic compared to traditional long-press methods.

There’s also a new password number row, which appears only in password fields, saving space on compact devices.

Users will be able to customize the shape of keys (e.g., rounded or pill-shaped), addressing user feedback for visual preference options.

Feature Status and Rollout

Most of these developments are available in recent Gboard betas, and some are slowly rolling out to all Android users over the coming weeks.

AI Writing Tools on Gboard require devices running Gemini Nano and above.

These updates reflect Google’s continued push to make Gboard smarter, faster, and more flexible for all Android users.
