Origin OS is a next-generation, hype-driven OS, and as global customers, we’ve been waiting for it for a long time. Instead, we only received unpolished Funtouch OS updates.

Now Vivo and iQOO are bringing Origin OS globally, The transformation from Funtouch OS to Origin OS isn’t just a normal software upgrade — it’s a move into the next era of AI, customization, and aesthetic experience.

In mainland China, many devices like the iQOO Neo 7 and iQOO Neo 7 SE have already planned for Origin OS 6. Seeing that, we expected the same rollout globally — but sadly, our expectations were broken. 😞

When a company transitions to a new OS, it will include more devices in the upgrade to help build brand loyalty, trust, and a stronger ecosystem.

We’ve seen before that when brands switch to a new OS, they sometimes push an extra update even for phones that have already completed their promised Android upgrades.

Xiaomi (MIUI → HyperOS)

  When Xiaomi launched HyperOS in late 2023, many phones that were already at the end of their update cycle under MIUI still got HyperOS. For example, some Redmi Note devices with only 2 promised Android updates received HyperOS—even without a new Android version.

Samsung (Experience UI → One UI)

  Back in 2018, Samsung moved from Experience UI (TouchWiz) to One UI. Devices at the end of their 2-update policy still got One UI 1.0/1.1.

If Funtouch OS continues, we — the iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro users — don’t want any extra update

Please release one final update for iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro with Origin OS.

Don’t leave us behind — we’ve had a poor experience with Funtouch OS for the past two years, while in mainland China these devices are already listed for the Origin OS update.

We can see that globally, Vivo is doing great and currently holds the 4th position. Providing extra updates (as promised at the time of sale) helps increase brand loyalty and encourages more people to buy their phones. For example, the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G recently received an extra update, which strengthened customer trust.

In another scenario, we see that in the Neo series, they provide 3 years of major updates and 4 years of security updates recently.As the Neo 7and pro  sells at the same prices, they should update the iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro to provide 3 years of major updates and 4 years of security updates.

Recently, we see that some devices in China received the Origin OS 6 update without providing an Android version update.

That’s why iQOO fans are asking the company to do the same. At least give iQOO Neo 7, iQOO Neo 7 Pro the Origin OS 6 update without providing the Android version update,

or give the Origin OS update based on Android 16.

If they have a cost-cutting policy, they wouldn’t provide monthly updates. Instead, provide Origin OS 6 and some bug-fix updates.

Providing this update will greatly improve the user experience and help maintain brand loyalty, trust, and customer satisfaction.

Even if the Android version stays the same, just updating the UI(origin os) would make a huge difference for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
