Some exciting leaks have surfaced about Durin — here’s the low-down on what’s rumoured so far. (Take everything with a pinch of salt until official confirmation!)
According to leaks by sources like Team Mew and Dimbreath, Durin appears to be a Pyro-type off-field DPS (or support/DPS hybrid) character.
His kit seems to revolve around two different states for his Elemental Skill and Burst: Albedo Affirmation and Nigredo Negation.
He reportedly has two versions of his Skill depending on the sequence:
Skill 1: If he uses his Elemental Skill twice, he deals AoE Pyro damage, and enters Albedo Affirmation state.
Skill 2: If his Normal Attack is used after activating his Skill, he enters Nigredo Negation state and deals three consecutive AoE Pyro hits in front.
Also, regardless of the state, there's a claim he restores elemental energy every 6 seconds.
His Burst is his main damage source. It scales depending on which state he is in when he activates it:
In Albedo Affirmation, he summons a Whiteflame Dragon that periodically follows the active character, dealing AoE Pyro damage.
In Nigredo Negation, he summons a Black Corrosion Dragon that follows the active character and deals Pyro damage to one enemy.
If neither state is active at Burst time, he will enter Albedo Affirmation by default.
Some interesting effects:
If in Whiteflame state, when party members trigger Overloaded/Burning/Pyro Swirl/Crystallize, the enemy’s Pyro RES and corresponding elemental RES drop by 20% for 6 seconds.
If in Black Corrosion state, his Vapourize/Melt reaction damage increases by 40%.
His Burst damage is increased by 50% while in either state, up to a bonus of +1000 DMG.
He gains 25% more rewards when sent on a 20-hour Mondstadt expedition.
Here are some leaked Constellation effects:
C1: Burst damage +25%. If in State 1, party members get stacks of “Cycle Enlightenment” boosting their Normal/Charged/Plunging/Skill/Burst damage. If in State 2, Durin himself gains those stacks and deals extra Burst damage.
C2: After using Burst, when party triggers certain reactions (Overloaded, Vapourize, Melt, Burning, Pyro Swirl, Crystallize), all party members get +50% Pyro DMG and +50% corresponding elemental DMG for 6s.
C3: Increases Burst level by 3.
C4: 55% chance not to consume Cycle Enlightenment stacks created by C1.
C5: Increases Skill level by 3.
C6: Burst ignores 30% of enemy DEF. If in State 1, Burst or Whiteflame Dragon hitting enemy reduces their DEF by 30% for 6s. If in State 2, Burst/Black Dragon ignores an additional 40% enemy DEF.
This dual-state mechanic is really interesting — having to choose or switch between states means there’s a lot of strategic depth.
If true, his off-field DPS/support role makes him a potential complement to strong on-field units (e.g., big Pyro DPS) or reaction-based teams.
The C2 reaction buff is huge for team synergy — could make him a great facilitator in reaction teams (Vapourize/Melt etc).
The “ignore DEF” effect at C6 may set him up as a major damage dealer if built properly.
Of course: these are leaks. Nothing is officially confirmed, so things could change.
