I’m writing this not out of anger, but out of deep disappointment as a loyal iQOO customer who truly believed in this brand.
When I bought the iQOO Neo 7 Pro for ₹37,000, it was marketed as a flagship gaming phone — with top-tier performance, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and a promise of premium experience.
And to be honest, even today the hardware works buttery smooth — performance, display, thermals — all are great.
But what’s the use of powerful hardware when the software feels stuck in 2022?
We got two Android updates as promised, but let’s be honest — those updates were nothing more than security patch-level changes. The look, feel, and UI experience remain exactly the same as day one. Meanwhile, our direct competitor OnePlus 11R, launched with the same processor, now runs on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16, bringing a whole new look and features. Even Realme’s mid-range phones under ₹15,000 feel more modern and refined in UI compared to what we have right now.
Now what hurts the most — iQOO has started rolling out Android 16 / Funtouch OS 16 / OriginOS 6 for many other models, even with lower-end chips, but has completely excluded the Neo 7 Pro from that list.
Why?
Why is a device that was launched as a premium “gaming flagship” suddenly treated like an old phone?
Thousands of users across the community and on social media are asking for just one thing — OriginOS 6 or Funtouch 16 update for Neo 7 Pro. Not because we’re greedy for updates, but because we believed in iQOO’s vision of being a brand for performance lovers and power users. Right now, it feels like iQOO just wanted to sell phones, not build trust or long-term user satisfaction.
I genuinely feel betrayed.
Not because the phone is bad — it’s still excellent — but because the brand didn’t stand by its users when it mattered most.
We supported iQOO when it was growing, we promoted it to our friends as a “new brand that cares about gamers and enthusiasts,” but seeing how this model is being ignored is truly painful.
I request iQOO to please listen to your community.
We’re not asking for impossible things — we just want a proper Android 16 / OriginOS 6 update that refreshes the experience and gives us the same pride we once had when buying this phone.
We believed in iQOO.
Please don’t make us regret that decision.
