Jagadhatri Puja is a major Hindu festival, particularly popular in the Indian state of West Bengal, where it celebrates Goddess Jagadhatri, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Meaning the "Bearer of the World," she is revered as the divine power that sustains the universe and is depicted as having four arms, riding a lion, and subduing an elephant demon, Karindrasura, which symbolizes the victory of divine wisdom over arrogance and ego.

Celebrated primarily on the Shukla Navami tithi of the Bengali month of Kartik (usually falling in October or November), a few weeks after Durga Puja, the festival is most famous for its grand scale and elaborately illuminated, towering idols in cities like Chandannagar and Krishnanagar. The festival spans four days in these regions and is a time for immense community gatherings, spiritual devotion, and cultural fanfare, continuing the autumnal tradition of Shakti (divine feminine power) worship.
