The Performance Powerhouses: iQOO Neo Series
The Neo series has emerged as the cornerstone of iQOO's strategy in India, expertly engineered to dominate the fiercely competitive "flagship killer" segment, which typically ranges from ₹25,000 to ₹40,000. These devices are defined by their ability to offer near-flagship performance at a significantly lower price point.
The iQOO Neo 6, launched on May 31, 2022, marked the debut of the Neo series in India. It was a masterclass in strategic product adaptation. By equipping the Indian variant with the powerful yet thermally stable and cost-effective Snapdragon 870 chipset, iQOO established a new performance benchmark in the sub-₹30,000 category. With a starting price of ₹29,999, it immediately became a go-to recommendation for performance-oriented users on a budget.
Launched on February 16, 2023, the iQOO Neo 7 represented a bold strategic pivot. It was the first smartphone in India to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, a move that challenged the Snapdragon dominance in this segment and showcased iQOO's confidence in MediaTek's high-end offerings. Coupled with an upgrade to 120W fast charging, the Neo 7, starting at ₹29,999, further solidified iQOO's reputation for bringing flagship-grade features to the mid-range.
On July 4, 2023, iQOO expanded the Neo lineup with the Neo 7 Pro. This device created a new "Pro" tier within the series by reintroducing a Qualcomm flagship-grade chip—the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This strategic diversification allowed iQOO to offer two distinct performance levels under the Neo banner, simultaneously targeting the sub-₹30,000 market with the standard Neo 7 and the sub-₹35,000 segment with the more powerful Neo 7 Pro, which launched with a base price of ₹34,999.
The launch of the iQOO Neo 9 Pro on February 22, 2024, cemented the Neo Pro's identity as the "smart flagship". By utilizing the previous year's top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, iQOO delivered performance nearly on par with contemporary flagships but at a fraction of the cost, starting at ₹35,999. The device also featured a more premium dual-tone vegan leather design and a flagship-grade Sony IMX920 primary camera sensor, enhancing its appeal beyond just raw performance.
Scheduled for a March 2025 launch, the iQOO Neo 10R is set to target the upper mid-range with the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It continues the Neo series' focus on battery life with a massive 6400mAh battery paired with 80W fast charging. The device will feature a 1.5K 144Hz flat AMOLED display and a 50MP Sony OIS main camera, aiming to deliver a balanced, high-performance experience with a starting price of around ₹26,998.
Expected in May 2025, the iQOO Neo 10 aims to push the performance envelope further with the next-generation Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and the dedicated Supercomputing Chip Q1. It is designed for extreme endurance, featuring a massive 7000mAh battery and 120W FlashCharge technology. The phone will also boast a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP Sony OIS main camera, positioning it as a top-tier performance device with a launch price anticipated to be around ₹31,998.
