Hey Questers,
Are you facing issues with the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor on your iQOO Device? Noticing slower recognition or inconsistent unlocking after applying a third-party tempered glass? Let's break down why this happens and how to fix it.
New iQOO Devices come equipped with an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that:
• Uses high-frequency ultrasonic waves to scan your fingerprint through the display
• Reads depth, ridges, and unique patterns for precise 3D recognition
• Offers fast, secure unlocking and reliable payment authentication
However, for this technology to perform correctly, the material and thickness of any screen protector play a crucial role.
Using third-party tempered glass may:
• Interfere with ultrasonic wave transmission
• Causes slower unlocking or failed fingerprint scans
• Create air gaps or uneven adhesive layers that disrupt the sensor
Testing shows that most issues arise from the thickness and rigid composition of non-official tempered glass, which is not optimised for iQOO's ultrasonic system.
Your iQOO Device comes pre-installed with an official screen protector engineered for the ultrasonic sensor. It features:
• Ultra-thin, flexible material that allows ultrasound waves to pass with minimal loss
• Perfect compatibility tuned by iQOO engineers
• Four-stage quality testing for clarity, stain resistance, and responsiveness
On the other hand, third-party tempered glass:
• Does not offer strong or reliable drop protection
• Can break easily while the display remains intact
• Only provides limited impact resistance
• Interferes with ultrasonic fingerprint performance
A Common Misconception about: Tempered Glass Protects Better
It's a common misconception to think tempered glass protects the display during drops. However, this is not always true. In most cases, the tempered glass shatters first while the actual display remains unharmed. Modern displays, including the one on the new iQOO flagship, are already built with advanced manufacturing techniques and are much more durable than before.
The third-party display tempered glasses often add to more issues than solutions: scratches on the screen, a collection of dirt and debris. Plus, the extra thickness of tempered glass often disrupts ultrasonic scanning.
• Use the pre-installed official protective film
• Replace it only with an official iQOO film if needed
• Avoid third-party tempered glass protectors
• If you're facing issues after installing one, remove it to restore normal sensor performance
