1. Issue Summary

After updating to the November month patch, the device is experiencing severe network instability, specifically related to 5G connectivity. Before the update, 5G worked normally without any issues.


2. Detailed Description of the Problem

  • 5G stops working randomly or does not connect at all.
  • The phone frequently switches to 4G / LTE even in strong 5G coverage areas.
  • Sometimes shows “No Internet” despite full signal bars.
  • Mobile data speed becomes extremely slow on 5G.
  • Network resets automatically for 3–5 seconds during usage.
  • Same SIM works perfectly in another 5G phone → confirms problem is with the device/software update.

3. Steps Already Tried (Still Not Solved)

  1. Verified 5G is enabled in
  2. Settings → SIM & Network → Preferred Network Type → 5G Preferred
  3. Reset Network Settings.
  4. Swapped SIM between SIM 1 & SIM 2 slot.
  5. Reinserted SIM physically.
  6. Checked 5G coverage area (confirmed 5G available).
  7. Tried the SIM in another 5G phone — works normally.
  8. Restarted phone multiple times.
  9. Disabled and re-enabled Airplane mode.

All these steps failed to fix the issue, confirming it is related to the recent update.


4. Expected Behaviour

  • Stable and continuous 5G connectivity.
  • No forced downgrade to 4G in strong coverage areas.
  • No random data disconnections.
  • Consistent internet speed matching the 5G plan.

5. Actual Behaviour After November Update

  • 5G not connecting properly.
  • Network fluctuation between 5G → 4G → No network.
  • Very slow internet on 5G mode.
  • Occasional loss of network signal.

6. Impact on Daily Usage

  • Interrupted online calls and meetings.
  • Gaming pings extremely unstable.
  • Slow downloads and buffering on videos.
  • Banking/UPI apps fail during reconnect attempts.
  • Overall mobile experience degraded.

7. Request to iQOO

I request iQOO to:

  1. Acknowledge this as a post-update bug affecting the Indian iQOO Z9 5G units.
  2. Release an urgent hotfix update to restore network stability.
  3. Provide a temporary workaround until the fix is released.
