What is Android Easter Egg

In the tech world, primarily when it comes to computer software, an Easter Egg is a little hidden "bonus" or "surprise" programmed into the coding for the software.

The Easter egg is a hidden feature in the Android operating system that can be accessed by performing some specific steps in the settings menu. Every Android device comes with this hidden feature. The process of unlocking this feature is mostly similar in all versions of Android. The Easter egg has been included since Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread).

You can access this feature under the Android version number in your device settings. However, it is mostly found under Settings > System > About Phone. You can also search for "Android Version" in the Settings screen. Once you find the Android version number, tap it continuously for a few seconds, and the Easter egg feature will be invoked.

Many pieces of software, such as various production applications, also have Easter Eggs. One popular Easter Egg with Microsoft Excel, for example, was that if the user went to a particular cell on the spreadsheet and entered a certain formula, a flight simulator game would appear.

Even websites have Easter Eggs. If you go to Google and type "Do a barrel roll", the entire page will spin.

Easter Eggs are simply meant for entertainment or simple engagement purposes.
