🧠 Thread 61: Why People Stay in Unhealthy Situations

People don’t stay in unhealthy situations because they don’t see the damage. They stay because the damage feels familiar.

The brain values predictability over peace.

People stay in unhealthy situations because:

• Familiar discomfort feels safer than unknown change

• Emotional bonds create dependency

• Fear of starting over feels heavy

• Hope delays difficult decisions

The mind convinces itself that endurance is strength and patience is loyalty. But staying isn’t always commitment. Sometimes it’s fear disguised as loyalty.

Leaving doesn’t mean you failed.

It means you finally listened.

Staying keeps the past alive.

Leaving makes space for the future.
