1. The Story of Money

This section traces 2,600 years of monetary history. It begins with the barter system and moves through early forms of "commodity money" such as Yap stones (large stone discs), salt, and even whale teeth.

  • The Currency Sculpture: At the center stands a 12-foot high installation (as seen in your third image) depicting the evolution of money from ancient coins to modern digital currency and cryptocurrency.
  • Rare Collections: On display are ancient coins from the Kushana and Gupta periods, British-era notes, and modern security-featured currency.

2. The Story of Gold

Gold has always been a pillar of the Indian economy. This section explains its journey "from mine to mint" and its role during the 1991 balance-of-payments crisis.

  • Gold Vault Experience: A recreated vault (shown in your first image) features life-sized dioramas of workers handling gold bars.
  • Interactive Lifting: A major highlight is a display where you can attempt to lift a 12.5 kg gold bar replica (shown in your second image) to feel its surprising density compared to iron.
  • Weight in Gold: A special weighing scale allows you to see how many standard gold bars equal your body weight.

3. Genesis of the RBI

This section details the bank's formation in 1935 following the Hilton Young Commission's recommendations.

  • Heritage & Tools: You can view vintage machinery, such as note-stitching machines and manual printing presses used for government bonds.
  • The One Crore Display: A glass-encased exhibit (your fourth image) visually demonstrates exactly how much space one crore rupees occupies in physical cash, helping visitors grasp large financial figures.

4. The Fun Zone (Mezzanine Floor)

Designed primarily for children and students, this area features games with a financial twist, such as:

  • Financial Snake & Ladders: A floor-sized sensor game where players learn about savings and debt.
  • Bioscope & Interactive Carrom: Traditional games adapted to teach economic concepts.
