Fact Check: Is the OriginOS "Trial Version" Different from the Official Update?

Hi Questers,

In the world of OriginOS 6, there is often confusion when a new update drops. You might see people posting screenshots of a new version while your phone says "System is up to date."

This is all due to the difference between the Trial Version and the Push Notification update. Here is a quick thread to clear the air. 🧵

They Are the Same Update 🤝

First things first: the Trial Version and the Official Push Update are identical.

  • They carry the same build number (e.g., 6.0.x.x).
  • They have the same file size.
  • They contain the same features and bug fixes.

The only difference is when you get them. Think of the Trial Version as a "priority pass" for those who don't want to wait

Why Use the Trial Version? 🚀

Vivo and iQOO release updates in batches to ensure server stability.

The Waiting Game: A standard push notification might take 10 to 15 days to reach every device after the initial release.

The Shortcut: If you check the "Trial Version" section manually, you can skip this long waiting period and install the update on day one.

What Happens if You Miss the Window? ⏰

The Trial Version is usually open for a specific window or a limited number of "seats."

  • If you don't check the Trial Version during that early period, don't worry.
  • Once the trial phase ends and the update is deemed stable, it will be sent as a standard Push Notification to all remaining users automatically.
  • This usually happens within 2 weeks of the initial trial launch.

How to Check for Trial Version in OriginOS 6 🔍

If you want the latest features right now, here is how to find it:

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap on System Update.
  • Tap the Settings gear icon (or the three dots ⋮) in the top right corner.
  • Select Trial version (sometimes labeled as Version Trial).
  • If an update is available, tap Download and Install.

Note: If it says "No test versions available," it means the current batch is full or the official push has already started for your device!

Thanks,
