At CES 2026, HP surprised everyone by showing off a computer that doesn’t look like a computer at all. The new HP EliteBoard G1a is a full AI-powered PC built directly into a keyboard, making it one of the most unique designs of this year’s tech event.

A Computer Hidden in a Keyboard

Instead of the usual big desktop tower or a foldable laptop, HP has created a device where all the components are packed inside a slim 12 mm-thick keyboard. You can simply connect it to any monitor, and you have a complete workstation ready to use.

The EliteBoard G1a includes:

Built-in computer hardware

Audio system

Connectivity ports

Local AI processing

Even with all that packed inside, the keyboard weighs only around 750 grams, making it lighter than most laptops.

Powered by AMD AI Hardware

The device uses an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor, paired with an NPU that can handle over 50 trillion operations per second for artificial intelligence tasks. This means it can run demanding workloads smoothly while keeping all AI processing local, instead of relying on cloud services.

This setup is ideal for:

Video calls with AI enhancements

Productivity apps

On-device AI tools

Professional multitasking

Designed for the New Way of Working

HP says this product was created for people who no longer stay fixed at one desk. Many professionals now switch between home, office, shared spaces, and hybrid setups. The EliteBoard G1a allows users to carry their full PC in a compact form and plug it into any display wherever they go.

The design also helps keep workspaces clean and minimal, without cables everywhere or bulky hardware on the table.

Security Still a Priority

Even with its small size, HP has included strong security features:

Physical security with a lockable tether

HP Wolf Security for Business

Hardware-level protection for data and AI tasks

This makes it suitable for office environments where security is essential.

Alongside a New 4K Monitor

To complement the keyboard PC, HP also introduced the Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor, which features:

IPS Black and Neo:LED technology

High contrast and accurate colours

Factory calibration

Thunderbolt 4 support with up to 140W power delivery

This monitor is targeted at professionals like designers, editors, and creators who need high-quality visuals.

Availability

HP says both the EliteBoard G1a and the Series 7 Pro 4K Monitor will be available on their official website beginning March 2026. Pricing will be revealed closer to launch.
