Red Dead Redemption 2 is kicking off 2026 with a new month of limited-time missions and rewards for its frequently neglected Online mode. While it's not exactly the next-gen update we're all begging Rockstar Games for, it's as good an excuse as any to jump back into one of the best open worlds of all time. While GTA Online continues to go from strength to strength with substantial new updates that actually carry the GTA 5 story forward, Red Dead Redemption 2's online counterpart has always been largely ignored. Regardless, there's always something new to do, and January 2026 is no exception.
Between January 6 and February 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can log in to Red Dead Online for some brand-new missions and rewards. There are new limited-time items and a bunch of bounties to complete, along with a few other goodies here and there. For the next month, you'll be able to earn 3X RDO$, Role XP, and XP by turning in Regular Bounties, and 2X RDO$, Gold, and XP for Legendary and Infamous Bounties.Successfully turn in a Legendary Bounty and you can claim the Harshaw Gauntlets. Bounty Hunters of Rank 25 or higher who play Red Dead Online this month can also get the Clairborn Coat. Like I said, not exactly the update we wanted... but we take what we can get.
January 6 – 12: Complete three Bounty Missions to receive a Reward for the San Luis Shore Treasure Map
January 13 – 19: Complete all your Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges to receive an Offer for 40% off an Established or Distinguished Bounty Hunter Role Item
January 20 – 26: Complete three Bounty Missions to receive an Offer for 50% off a Weapon
January 27 – February 2: Players Rank 50 or Higher can log in to receive the beige Torranca Coat
What's a cowboy without their drip?
If the above isn't quite enough for you, there are a few limited-time clothing items being added to the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalog over the next few weeks. You can grab the Gator Hat, Strickland Boots, Tied Pants, Irwin Coat, Clymene Coat, and Shaffer Chaps. Finally, you can get involved in multiplayer mayhem via the Manhunt or Day of Reckoning events, both of which will pay out 3X RDO$ and XP through February 2. Oh, and if you participate in either Manhunt or Day of Reckoning at all this month, you'll get a special charm. If you're hoping Red Dead Redemption 2's long-awaited next-gen update is finally coming this year, you're definitely not alone. Heck, it's actually starting to look pretty likely at this point. But if you just can't wait for that, Red Dead Online can still be a lot of fun with the right friends. Maybe this is your sign to check it out.
