Hello iQOO Community 👋
I am sharing my real-world experience after updating to OriginOS 6, so that other iQOO users don’t panic due to initial battery drain.
Battery Performance Before Update (Funtouch OS)
On Android 15 with Funtouch OS, my iQOO Neo 9 Pro used to deliver around:
📱~6 hours 30 minutes of Screen-On Time (SOT)
Initial Days After OriginOS 6 Update
After installing OriginOS 6, I faced:
Faster battery drain
Reduced SOT (around 4 hours initially)
Even though the update was stable, this behavior was noticeable in the first few days.
What I Did (Battery Cycle & Optimization Process)
Instead of factory resetting, I followed proper post-update battery optimization steps:
✅ Charged the device to 100% daily
✅ Used the phone normally
✅ Allowed the battery to drain naturally until auto power-off at around 1–5%
✅ Repeated this for 5–6 days
❌ No beta
❌ No trial version
❌ No factory reset
Final Result (After 5–6 Days) 🔥
Now the battery performance has improved significantly:
📊 Latest Battery Stats (Screenshot Attached):
Screen-On Time: ~7 hours 30 minutes
Total usage: ~10+ hours
Battery usage: 100% → 5%
👉 This is better than my previous SOT on Funtouch OS.
Why This Happens (Important Explanation)
After a major OS upgrade:
The system relearns user behavior
Battery AI recalibrates
Apps and background services re-optimize
Initial battery drain is normal, even on stable builds.
Once battery cycles are completed, performance improves automatically.
Important Advice for All OriginOS 6 Users
🔹 Don’t panic after initial battery drain
🔹 Don’t factory reset immediately
🔹 Complete 3–5 proper charge cycles
🔹 Give the system time to optimize
Conclusion
OriginOS 6 is capable of delivering excellent battery backup.
Once the system settles, battery life can be even better than Funtouch OS.
