They use NFC encrypted token systems.

Inside your card or phone is a tiny NFC antenna and secure chip.

When you tap near a terminal, a short-range radio field powers the chip.

The chip generates a one-time encrypted token instead of your real card number.

This token is sent to the payment network and verified by your bank.

Once used, the token becomes useless.

Your real card number is never exposed.

You are paying with disposable cryptographic proof.
