Hampi, located in Karnataka, was once the glorious capital of the Vijayanagara Empire (14th–16th century). It was among the richest and most powerful cities in the world, known for its advanced architecture, bustling trade, and deep-rooted spirituality. After the Battle of Talikota in 1565, the city fell into ruins—but its temples, bazaars, and stone chariots still echo tales of grandeur, devotion, and resilience. Today, Hampi stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a timeless open-air museum.

The Garudapaksha (Garuda) Temple is dedicated to Garuda, the divine eagle and vehicle of Lord Vishnu. Built during the Vijayanagara period, the temple reflects the empire’s devotion to Vaishnavism. The structure is known for its bold stone carvings and the symbolic presence of Garuda, representing strength, speed, and unwavering devotion. Though partially in ruins today, the temple still carries a powerful spiritual aura, reminding visitors of Hampi’s sacred and mythological importance.
