Barcode scanners do not understand numbers.

They understand light patterns.

The scanner shines a thin laser or LED line across the code.

Black bars absorb the light.

White spaces reflect it back.

A sensor measures this reflection sequence and converts it into digital data.

That data is matched with the store database to reveal:

• Product name

• Price

• Stock details


Your barcode is not a label.
