iQOO 15R: India Launch, Rumours, and China Specs — A Full Overview

In early 2026, iQOO officially confirmed that it will bring a new smartphone called the iQOO 15R to the Indian market, expanding its premium lineup and offering consumers powerful performance at a competitive price. The announcement was shared by Nipun Marya, CEO of iQOO India, in a teaser post on social media with the tagline “Power that fits just right,” hinting at a balanced mix of design and performance that the phone aims to deliver. This teaser confirmed that the 15R will feature a distinct dual-camera design, a flat-frame build, and will run OriginOS based on Android 16, though full specifications and pricing were not yet officially revealed at the time of the announcement.

First India Leaks and Rumours

Even before the full official details were released, leaks and early reports suggested several key features expected on the iQOO 15R. Many of these come from credible sources and community discussions pointing to:

A February 2026 launch window in India, possibly through Amazon sales, as hinted by early retail platform listings.

A special India-exclusive design with a checkered patterned back panel, differentiating it slightly from the Chinese version.

The phone is expected to continue the trend of offering near-flagship performance at a more accessible price than top-end models in the iQOO lineup.

Rumoured pricing hints from leaks suggest the 15R could land in a price segment that’s below flagship levels but above midrange phones, potentially around the ₹45,000–₹50,000 mark though official pricing has not yet been confirmed.

These early leaks align with how iQOO has historically launched devices in India  often basing them on China models but with regional design or software tweaks.

Link to the China Model: iQOO Z11 Turbo

Most of we expect for the iQOO 15R’s performance and hardware comes from the China-released iQOO Z11 Turbo, which launched there in January 2026. Many industry reports and tech news sites confirm that the 15R will essentially be a rebranded version of this China model with Indian tweaks.

In China, the iQOO Z11 Turbo brought impressive specifications for its price range, including:

Display: Around a 6.59-inch flat LTPS OLED panel with 1.5K (≈QHD+) resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for gaming and scrolling.

Processor: Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset one of the top-end chips for Android phones in 2026 ensuring fast performance and excellent power efficiency.

Camera System: A 200 MP main rear camera, accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 32 MP front selfie camera. This setup makes the Z11 Turbo one of the first iQOO phones with such a high-resolution main sensor.

Battery & Charging: Large 7,600 mAh battery with 100 W fast charging, which means long usage and quick recharging.

Build & Extras: IP68/69 dust and water resistance, metal frame with a glass back, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and robust cooling systems for gaming.

The China pricing of the Z11 Turbo started between about ¥2,699 and ¥3,999 depending on memory and storage configuration, which translates to roughly ₹35,000–₹57,000 before regional pricing adjustments.

Why This Matters for India

If the iQOO 15R truly mirrors the China model’s hardware Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 200 MP camera, and massive battery it would place the 15R as a strong competitor in the upper-midrange to near-flagship segment in India. The unique India-exclusive design and software customization (OriginOS) could further help tailor the device to local preferences.

Furthermore, combining official teasers from iQOO India with credible rumours and China specs gives a fairly clear picture: the iQOO 15R aims to offer flagship-grade performance and features without the full flagship price tag much like how its sibling devices in the series have been positioned.

 Summary:

The iQOO 15R is officially confirmed for India and expected to launch soon (likely late Jan–Feb 2026). It’s widely believed to be a rebranded version of the China iQOO Z11 Turbo, featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 200 MP camera, large battery, high-refresh-rate display, and a unique India-focused design. Multiple leaks suggest competitive pricing and strong performance, making it an exciting addition to iQOO’s lineup.
