Master Google Photos Selective Backups to Save Space

Hello Questers!

Most users back up everything automatically, which fills up Google storage and drains mobile data. Using Selective Backups ensures only your important memories are saved.

What is Selective Backup?

You choose specific folders (like Camera) to back up while ignoring others (like random app images or game screenshots). This keeps your storage clean and saves your data plan.

How to Set Up Selective Backups

 * Open Google Photos.

 * Tap your profile icon (top right).

 * Select Photos settings.

 * Tap Backup.

 * Tap Back up device folders.

 * Toggle ON only the folders you want to save.

Recommended Folders

 * ON: Camera, WhatsApp Images.

 * OFF: Screenshots, Downloads, Instagram (to avoid clutter).

Smart Rules for Better Storage

 * Use Wi-Fi Only: In Backup settings, turn OFF "Mobile data usage" for backups to save your daily data limit.

 * Review Before Sync: Delete blurry photos or duplicates before they upload to the cloud.

 * Archive Feature: Move utility photos (like receipts or notes) to Archive. They stay backed up but won't clutter your main photo grid.

Key Benefits

 * Save Space: Your 15GB free Google storage lasts much longer.

 * Data Savings: No more accidental uploads of heavy 4K videos on mobile data.

 * Clean Archive: Your main feed only shows meaningful memories.

Thanks!
