Hey Quest-ers! 📸
If you weren't at the Kala Ghoda Art Festival on January 31st, you missed out on some serious visual magic! We hit the streets of South Mumbai for an epic iQOO Photo Walk, led by our very own iQOO Ranger @Sameer Shaikh . From hidden architectural gems to vibrant street installations, the setup was spectacular.
But before we dive into the shots, let’s talk about why this place is the soul of Mumbai’s art scene.
The Legacy of the Black Horse
Did you know why this area is called Kala Ghoda?
The name "Black Horse" literally translates to a nod to the majestic bronze equestrian statue of King Edward VII (then the Prince of Wales) that once stood tall in the center of the precinct. While the original statue was moved to the Byculla Zoo in 1965, the name stuck. Today, a new riderless horse statue, The Spirit of Kala Ghoda, stands as a symbol of the area's resilience and its evolution into India’s premier arts district.
This year the theme of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026 "Ahead of the Curve," making it the perfect theme for IQOO.
