The FIFA World Cup ⚽ began yesterday in Qatar, and the entire world is in the #FootballFever. Now millions around the globe will be tuning in to watch their favourite players do their thing on the international stage.

There is no bigger reward for a footballer than winning the World Cup with his national team. However, apart from the iconic World Cup trophy 🏆, there are several other awards in the FIFA World Cup, mostly for individual performances. Today I'd like to introduce each and every FIFA awards 🏆 presented during or after each World Cup.

List of FIFA World Cup Individual Awards:

📢 Golden Boot Award

Given to the top goal scorer in the world cup since 1930. It is a statistics based trophy which means player with highest number of goals in tournament automatically declared winner.

📢 Golden Ball Award

Given to best player of the tournament. It was started back in 1982. Its judged by FIFA expert panel and awarded at the end of World Cup final. In terms of prestige its more important then Golden boot. Golden Ball winner usually also fight for Ballon dor award later in the year.

📢 Golden Glove Award

Given to best goal keeper in the tournament. It was started back in 1990. Its both statistics and opinion based award. Goalkeeper with most clean sheets usually get it. In some rare occasions where some produce epic goal keeping to actually help win the trophy.

📢 Best Young Player Award

Given to the best under-21 player in the tournament. Started back in 2006. Under-21 player with most goals and assist (attackers) or most clean sheets (defender and keeper) usually get this award. Its fairly new award and hold significant importance for young players.

📢 Fair Play Trophy

Team with the best discipline record - Usually the team with fewer Yellow and Red cards. Sometime it is awarded to team who show unusual match spirit at some point in the tournament . Started back in 1970 and has been part of World Cup awards since then.

📢 Most Entertaining Team Award

Usually awarded to team which scores the most number of goals in the tournament. Started back in 1998 world cup. As the name suggest team who scores the most goals are considered for this award. If the teams are matched on same number of goals, team who concede less wins it.

📢 Team of Tournament

11 players are included in team of tournament and each of them receive a World Cup XI trophy. Started back in 1990. Its both statistics and opinion based award where Fifa expert panel help finalize the World cup XI at the end of tournament.

📢 Goal Of The TournamentAward

Goal of the tournament award was started back in 2006 world cup. Since then 4 world cup has taken place with four different winners. Criteria for selection of goal of the tournament is more of subjective. It is decided by fans votes and expert panel input.

📢 Man Of The Match Award

It is awarded to the best player in every World Cup match. So far Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Arjen Robben have won the award most number (6) of times. While Wesley Snieder and Messi hold the record of winner most MOM awards in a single tournament (4).

👉 The champions of FIFA World Cup 2022 will win $42 million - ₹344 crores while the losing finalist will pocket $30 million - ₹245 crores.
