Hey team this is me Techexpress....Just came across a trending video (#78 on hype) where the creator compares iQOO 15R with OnePlus 15R and even calls the iQOO 15R a “scam.” I watched the full video to understand the points being raised. Sharing it here as community feedback so the team can check the claims, see what issues were mentioned (heating, charging, performance comparison, etc.), and clarify or improve if needed. I’ll list the specific points from the video below one by one.
Another point he mentioned was about FPS with screen recording. In the video, he shows that the OnePlus 15R can hit around 165 FPS during gameplay, but once screen recording is turned on, it drops closer to 120 FPS. Meanwhile, the iQOO 15R was still maintaining around 144 FPS even with screen recording enabled. That basically means the device is still pushing consistent GPU performance under extra load. Of course, when a phone keeps delivering high and stable FPS like that, it’s normal for battery drain and some additional heat to happen. Sharing this here so the team can look at the behavior from a performance vs thermals perspective and see if there’s any further optimization possible...
Also dropping a quick note about the FPS screenshots from the video 😅. The first screenshot of OnePlus 15R shows around 161 avg FPS (without screen recording), which looks great. But the next two screenshots with screen recording ON show the avg FPS dropping noticeably 🤣. Meanwhile, iQOO 15R was still holding close to its high FPS target even with recording running. Recording gameplay adds extra load on the GPU/CPU, so some drop is expected but it’s kinda funny seeing how big the difference looked in those screenshots. Just sharing this here so the team can also see how performance behaves under recording + gaming together....!!!
Another point from the video was about battery drain during gaming tests. The creator first tested Genshin Impact where the iQOO 15R battery went from 40% → 32% (8% drop), while the OnePlus 15R dropped from 40% → 36% (4% drop).
After that he tested Call of Duty: Mobile, where the iQOO 15R went from 32% → 14%, and the OnePlus 15R went from 36% → 19%. So yeah, iQOO 15R showed a bit more battery drain in these heavy gaming sessions.
But at the same time the device was also pushing higher and more stable FPS during gameplay, which means the CPU/GPU were working harder to maintain performance. When a phone keeps delivering high FPS in demanding games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty: Mobile, it’s pretty normal to see higher power usage and faster battery drain.
Sharing this here so the team can also review the performance vs battery trade-off and see if there’s any scope for further optimization.
Another point raised in the video was about charging speed. The creator mentioned that the iQOO 15R is claimed to reach 50% in around 33 minutes, but in his test it went from 0% → 44% in 33 minutes. Meanwhile the OnePlus 15R reached about 54% in the same 33 minutes window.
For full charging, the iQOO 15R took around 1 hour 12 minutes to go from 0% → 100%, while the OnePlus 15R finished in about 1 hour 8 minutes.
One thing to consider here is that real-world charging speeds can vary depending on battery capacity, device temperature, background processes, and thermal safety limits. Even though the iQOO 15R uses a 100W charger, if the battery is larger or the phone gets warm during charging, the system can slow down charging to protect battery health. That’s why sometimes real world results may differ slightly from the lab claims.
Sharing this here so the team can review the charging behavior as well and see if it’s just normal thermal regulation or something that could be optimized further.
Another thing the creator pointed out was the AnTuTu benchmark scores.
In the test, iQOO 15R scored around 3,004,766, while OnePlus 15R scored 2,967,295, so technically iQOO 15R is actually ahead in raw benchmark numbers.
However, the creator mentioned that the company marketing suggested numbers close to 3.5M, and the tested result is not exactly near that figure. One possible reason is that benchmark scores depend on multiple factors like device temperature, background processes, software version, and thermal limits. Many brands show peak lab scores under ideal conditions, while real world tests usually land slightly lower.
Even with that, the iQOO 15R still manages to outperform the OnePlus 15R in this benchmark test, which shows the performance potential is already strong.
If the team reviews this and maybe improves software optimization through updates, there’s a good chance the device could get even closer to its maximum performance potential. That would make the experience even smoother for gaming and heavy tasks.
That’s pretty much all the main points from the video. I’m sharing this because the video is currently trending around #78 on hype, so it caught my attention and I thought it might be useful feedback for the team.
The creator also mentioned that the phone was heating without a cover, and said that with a case on it might get even warmer. Since the iQOO 15R was also pushing higher performance and stable FPS in many scenarios, that could naturally add some extra thermal load but still worth a look from the optimization side.
Dropping this here purely as community feedback, not criticism. Maybe the team can check the points raised in the video and see if there’s anything that can be improved or optimized further through updates. If even small tweaks help performance or thermals get better, that would be a big win for the community.
