Hey #iQOO fans!

Having a big scratch on your phone is like having an itch in your brain you just can't reach. Plus, it lowers the resale value of the device when you want to upgrade. A screen protector can keep the surface pristine, but buying one is more complicated than it should be. It's also worth asking if modern phones even need one anymore.

There are so many brands, types, and prices that it's enough to make your head spin. Screen protectors can generally be broken down into a few simple types, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Let's check,

Most Common Screen Protector Types

When you stop by Fix My Phone, repairs are not the only thing we’re great at. We can also help you choose a screen protector that’s right for your device and budget. You'll find protectors in a variety of materials, including:

▶️ Tempered glass: Offers decent protection against impact as well as scratches.

▶️PET plastic: In general, it provides basic scratch resistance.

▶️TPU plastic: scratch protection only

▶️Multi-layered protector: very durable and can withstand significant amounts of shock.

So, do we really need a Screen Protector?

My answer is YES, Many common materials can scratch any smartphone display. One of the biggest things to watch out for is dust and sand. If you have some sand or dust in your pocket, that sand can rub against your smartphone's glass screen and scratch it. Unsurprisingly, hard rocks work similarly.

Other types of glass, rare metals, and very hard materials like diamonds can also scratch a Gorilla Glass display.

There are some disadvantages to using screen protectors, such as

  • They gradually lose their clarity.
  • Some protectors are fingerprint magnets.
  • My issue is that the ambient light does not feel good because of the black borders on the tempered glass.

So, do they really protect our phone?

YES, But screen protection is just one piece of the puzzle. These films will help you avoid scratches and provide some impact protection, but if you're worried about dropping your phone, get a case.

A screen protector will not protect the back of your phone, the edges, or even the corners of the screen. A good case, especially one with a lip over the screen, will do more for drops than any screen protector, so unless you feel lucky or have a good insurance plan, get a case along with whatever screen protection you decide on.

So, do you prefer to use your phone without a screen protector or with one, and what type of screen protector do you like? Share your thoughts and suggestions in the comment section below.
