⚡ Interesting Fact: Lightning Is Hotter Than the Surface of the Sun

Hello Questers,

Lightning is one of nature's most powerful and dramatic phenomena. A single lightning bolt can reach temperatures of about 30,000°C, which is significantly hotter than the surface of the Sun.

This intense heat occurs when electrical energy rapidly travels through the air, creating a superheated plasma channel. The sudden expansion of heated air causes the thunder we hear during storms.

Lightning also plays an important role in nature by helping produce nitrogen compounds that fertilize soil and support plant growth.

Scientists continue to study lightning in order to improve safety systems, understand storm behavior, and even explore ways of capturing lightning energy in the future.
