After months of gaming on the iQOO Neo 10, one thing is clear — this phone was built for gamers. From BGMI to Genshin Impact, the Neo 10 consistently delivers smooth gameplay, high frame rates, and outstanding battery life. But after long gaming sessions, the real story starts to appear: thermals and throttling. 🎮⚡

The phone comes with some seriously strong hardware — Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, a massive 7000mAh battery, and a 144Hz AMOLED display. On paper, it already sounds like a gaming beast, and in actual use, it mostly lives up to that reputation.

🎮 Gaming Performance After Months of Use

In BGMI with Smooth + Ultra Extreme + 120FPS settings, the performance feels flagship-level. During long sessions, the phone maintains stable FPS with only occasional dips in intense situations like hot-drops or heavy fights. Even after nearly an hour of gameplay, temperatures stayed around 43°C while battery drain remained surprisingly low at around 14%. That’s impressive considering the performance being pushed.

The experience remains strong across other games too. Call of Duty Mobile runs smoothly without noticeable lag, Asphalt 9 handles high-speed races comfortably, and even Genshin Impact performs well at high graphics settings with stable gameplay. For a phone in this category, the consistency is genuinely impressive.

🌡️ But Here’s the Reality…

The Neo 10 is powerful, but it’s not magic.

During extended gaming sessions, especially at 120FPS, heat starts building up. Once temperatures rise enough, the phone begins throttling performance to protect the hardware and battery. Some users reported FPS gradually dropping from 120 to 90 and sometimes even lower after long sessions. Interestingly, many users noticed this behavior becoming more aggressive after certain software updates.

What makes this more interesting is that iQOO’s software seems to manage performance differently depending on the game. Some titles appear fully optimized and unlocked for maximum performance, while others receive more conservative thermal control. So the hardware is clearly capable — but software tuning also plays a huge role here.

🔋 Battery Life Is the Real MVP

If there’s one area where the Neo 10 completely dominates, it’s battery life.

The 7000mAh battery easily handles long gaming sessions, social media, streaming, and daily use without stress. Even heavy gamers can comfortably push multiple hours of gameplay while still having charge left. The 120W FlashCharge support makes things even better because the phone charges incredibly fast, and bypass charging helps reduce heat while gaming plugged in. This combination is honestly one of the strongest highlights of the device. ⚡

🛠️ How to Reduce Heating & FPS Drops

A few simple tweaks can noticeably improve long-term gaming stability:

1. Enable Monster Mode and eSports Mode

2. Lower FPS from 120 to 90 during marathon sessions

3. Keep the device updated

4. Avoid gaming in very hot environments

5. Use an external cooler if you game heavily

These small adjustments help the phone maintain stable performance for much longer.

🏆 Final Verdict

The iQOO Neo 10 absolutely earns its reputation as a gaming-focused smartphone. It delivers excellent FPS stability, incredible battery backup, fast charging, and smooth overall gameplay. Yes, throttling does appear during very long sessions, but the phone still manages to provide a strong gaming experience overall.

For casual gamers, it’s more than enough.

For competitive gamers, a little thermal management goes a long way.

And considering the price-to-performance ratio, the Neo 10 remains one of the most exciting gaming phones in its segment. 🔥
