Hi, iQOO Fam!  Vishwa here, back with another interesting thread...

Six months have passed since I made the iQOO 15 my daily driver. And honestly, I wasn't planning to write this thread until I realized the phone has only gotten better since day one. So here's my real, no-fluff update on what actually matters after living with it through work, summer heat, gaming sessions, and everything in between.

Is there any lag or multitasking struggle after 6 months?

Not even once. I'm someone who never clears apps — I always have six or more running at any point, from Teams and Slack to Chrome, Instagram, and YouTube. One night, I went to bed with 15 apps open just to test it. The next morning, I unlocked the phone and every single app was still in memory, ready to go without a single reload.

That kind of RAM retention is rare, and it comes from the combination of 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and OriginOS 6's intelligent memory management working seamlessly together. As someone who heavily multitasks while writing content, this is one of the most important things a phone can do for me — and the iQOO 15 does it without asking.

Does the phone heat up, especially in summer?

This summer, Coimbatore touched 38°C on several days. I used the phone intensely during those peak hours, and there was no uncomfortable warmth, no thermal throttling, and no drop in performance. The iQOO 15 carries the industry's largest 8K VC Cooling Chamber, and you can genuinely feel the difference in sustained usage.

Pair that with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 built on a 3nm architecture and the iQOO Q3 Gaming Chip, and you have a combination that stays composed no matter how hard you push it.

Is the iQOO 15 receiving timely OTA updates?

Yes, and this is something I truly appreciate. As I write this on 20th May, I just received the May 2026 security patch update.

iQOO has been consistent with monthly OTA updates, each bringing security fixes and meaningful optimisations. Since I handle sensitive PII data on this device daily, knowing that the software is actively maintained gives me real confidence in the phone as a professional tool.

Has the camera improved or stayed the same?

This is where I have to say — the improvement is real and it surprised me. When I compare closeup shots I took back in November 2025 to what I shoot today, the difference is clearly visible.

The 3x Periscope Telephoto lens, powered by the 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor, has become my favourite lens on this device. Closeup shots now isolate the subject beautifully, bringing it into sharp focus while the background falls away naturally. There is no camera lag, no processing glitches, and no UI bugs to report.

Software updates have done a great job refining the camera experience over these six months.

Final Word on iQOO 15 after 6 months of usage

Six months in, the iQOO 15 is not just holding up — it is genuinely a better phone today than when I first unboxed it. The performance is consistent, the thermals are well managed, the updates are timely, and the camera keeps improving. If you are on the fence about long-term reliability.
