Severe FPS Drop and Thermal Throttling in BGMI after OriginOS 6 Update on iQOO

Dear iQOO Support / Optimization Team,

I am writing this to bring to your immediate attention a severe performance degradation issue I am facing on my iQOO Neo 10R, specifically while playing Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).

As a BGMI gaming creator, the primary reason I chose this device was its promised and advertised 120 FPS capability. Initially, when the phone was launched, the performance was excellent. I was easily able to get a stable 120 FPS for nearly 2 hours before any noticeable throttling occurred. The user experience and camera quality remain excellent, but the gaming performance has heavily degraded recently.

The Problem:

Ever since updating to OriginOS 6, the device starts heating up the moment I open BGMI. I reside in a village where the ambient room temperature is relatively cool, and I even use a continuous standing fan directly focused on the mobile while playing. Despite these measures, the device suffers from aggressive thermal throttling:

  • Within 10 to 20 minutes of gameplay, the frame rate drops drastically from 120 FPS to 90 FPS.
  • After another 20 minutes, it further drops and locks at 60 FPS.

It appears that the thermal thresholds in OriginOS 6 have been set way too low, causing the device to throttle aggressively even with slight warmth. Lowering the frame rate manually defeats the entire purpose of buying a 120 FPS flagship killer gaming device.

Request:

This is clearly a software optimization issue introduced in the recent OriginOS 6 update. I request your technical team to investigate this immediately and release an OTA update to optimize BGMI performance and fix this aggressive thermal throttling behavior.

As a loyal iQOO user, I expect a swift resolution to this issue so I can utilize the device to its full potential. Looking forward to a positive response and a quick fix update ASAP.

Device Details:

  • Model: iQOO Neo 10R
  • Current OS: OriginOS 6
  • Issue: Aggressive thermal throttling & FPS drop (120 to 60 FPS) in BGMI
