I Rigorously Tested the iQOO 15R for Nearly 100 Days — Here's My Final Long-Term Review

Introduction

I was provided the iQOO 15R under the Quester Review Program for testing and review purposes. However, this review is based entirely on my personal daily usage and extensive testing over nearly 100 days.

During this period, the device served as my primary smartphone, allowing me to evaluate its real-world performance across photography, gaming, battery life, display quality, thermal management, software experience, and overall usability.

All tests were conducted on the latest stable software version available during the review period.

• Natural skin tones
• Good shadow recovery

Even under harsh Indian summer sunlight, the camera maintained highlight control reasonably well.

Street Photography

As someone who regularly shoots street photography, I found the iQOO 15R surprisingly capable.

Strengths

• Quick shutter response
• Reliable subject tracking
• Good motion freezing
• Balanced contrast
• Consistent exposure metering

The camera was able to capture spontaneous moments without noticeable shutter lag.

Editing & Color Grading Flexibility

One of the key aspects I tested was how much flexibility the iQOO 15R images provide during post-processing. All example images below were captured by me and edited from the original files.

Ultra-Wide Performance

The 8 MP ultra-wide camera provides useful flexibility for landscape and architectural shots.

Pros

Cons

• Reduced detail compared to the main sensor
• Visible softness toward frame edges

Macro Photography

The camera can focus surprisingly close using the primary sensor.

Observations

Best results are achieved under adequate lighting conditions and good editing

Astrophotography

This was one of the most exciting parts of my testing.

Over the review period, I captured:

Performance

The combination of OIS, computational photography, and dedicated night processing allowed the device to produce impressive results.

• Excellent visual quality

Genshin Impact

Genshin remains one of the most demanding mobile games available.

Observations:

• Stable performance on high settings

• Limited frame drops during extended sessions

Even after prolonged gaming in Indian summer conditions, performance remained reliable.

Throughout nearly 100 days of testing, I rarely encountered performance bottlenecks.

Thermal Management

Given the average testing temperature of around 39°C, thermal performance was a critical evaluation point.

Findings

• Efficient heat dissipation
• Comfortable during daily use
• Controlled temperature during gaming
• Minimal throttling under sustained loads

The cooling system performs admirably considering the challenging environmental conditions.

Battery Life

The iQOO 15R successfully balances performance, photography, gaming, and everyday usability, making it one of the most well-rounded smartphones I have tested in this category.
