After using the iQOO 15R for 3 months, my honest answer is: yes, it does deliver reliable camera performance for everyday use. What impressed me most is that the camera has stayed consistent over time, especially in daylight shots, and the results still look as good as they did on day one.
The rear camera setup is built around a 50MP Sony LYT-700V OIS main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, f/1.88 aperture, and 2x lossless zoom support, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP front camera.
This is not a “camera flagship” on paper, but the hardware is clearly tuned for balanced, dependable photography. What stands out the most is daylight performance. The shots come out brilliant, and auto HDR does a much better job now, especially in scenes with bright skies and shadows. The dynamic range feels improved, so the phone handles difficult lighting in a cleaner way than before.
Zoom performance also deserves a special mention. Beyond 3x, the results improve in a surprising way, even without a dedicated telephoto lens.
That is where vivo's NICE algorithm seems to step in and do the heavy lifting, helping the phone keep more detail and better background separation than I expected.
Video has also become noticeably better during my usage. I tried shooting 4K footage while walking in a park, and stabilization was solid while retaining good detail. In more stable conditions, the phone does a very good job with color accuracy and detail, and 4K 60fps recording feels smooth with no noticeable lag or stutter.
So overall, after 3 months, the iQOO 15R camera feels reliable, consistent, and improved, especially for daylight photos, zoom shots, and video recording.
