Hello #iQOOans!
Good Morning 🌄
Today is another new day and first day of the New Month (february). So again i am came up to Connect with yo'll with another very interesting topic 'IP67 vs IP68'.So without further ado let's start this topic.
IP stands for "Ingress Protection" and is the International Protection Marking per IEC standard 60529.
Following the letters "IP" are typically 2 digits which indicate the level of protection of the product. The first digit ranges from 1 through 6, and the second digit ranges from 1 through 9.The first digit indicates the level of protection a product has from a solid - i.e. a finger, screwdriver, or even dust. The second digit indicates the level of protection a product has from liquid intrusion in certain volumes, pressures, or temperature.
The primary reason for using the term "IP certification" is to avoid generic words such as "waterproof" or "water-resistant."
IP67 represents one of the highest levels of protection offered by an IP rating. This rating provides: Complete protection against ingress of dust and airborne particles. Protection against water and liquids, up to and including immersion in up to one meter of water.
With an IP68 rating, they are water resistant in fresh water to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes, and are protected from dust - all without the need for extra cases or covers.
The main difference between IP67 and IP68 is: An IP67 enclosure is rated to resist submersion, but only at a depth of 1 meter and for 30 minutes. An IP68 enclosure is rated to resist submersion of at least 1 meter and up to 30 minutes, plus an additional depth and length of time specified by the manufacturer.image credit: google.
