Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania released on 17th February worldwide which makes it the 8th feature film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the Phase 3 that ended with Avengers: Endgame. Unlike other Marvel Movies, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a senseless movie except for Paul Rudd's performance which is closer to reality and teaches you some good life lessons.
After the Loki series, it was important to tell the audience more about the Kang Dynasty as Marvel has kept it as its prime focus for the next phase that will end with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Not in detail, but Quantumania explains the origin of Kang and his situation in the Quantum Reality. It is safe to assume that after the reign of Thanos has ended, the next big deal with Marvel's next supervillain is Kang.
That brings me to the question that I want to ask:
Where do the movies post Endgame lie in the list of my liking? Do let me know in the comments if you agree with this list.
Did not like this film at all because of the lack in focus. The story was poorly built and the characters did not have any depth. The only exciting part of this movie was the post credit scene where we get to see Eros, the brother of Thanos. It will be interesting to see how Marvel uses that character, however, it doesn't seem like Marvel will be working on Eternals 2 anytime soon.
Even my eternal love for Chris Hemsworth couldn't help me to incline myself towards liking this super flawed film. It also feels like a personal pain to see Christian Bale making his debut in MCU with the character of Gorr The God Butcher. Even his acting couldn't save this film to be counted as one of the worst MCU movie ever made.
The much awaited Black Widow origin movie fell flat for me because it was a misdirection completely and it did not match my expectations. I wanted the visuals of the child Natasha Romanoff being trained and made a super assasin and her moral strength to break free from that life and her journey to finally reach the S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. It would have been a perfect circle in that case which was completely missed. Also, after her demise in Endgame, the character didn't hold much relevance. However, her sister Yelena played by the charming Florence Pugh will return in the next season of Hawkeye and that is something that I look forward to.
It is one of the finest first installment of a new introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to me, the only first part of a solo franchise that is better than Shang-Chi is Iron Man that came out in 2008. Being said that, Shang-Chi doesn't have a lot to offer as a whole and the story got entangled with the human drama between Shang-Chi's parents. The action sequences in Asia, the fight between Abomination and Wong (The Socerer Supreme) and the climax is the highs of the movie that makes it fall here in my list at number 5 out of 8.
One of kind visuals made this film one of the best films of MCU and this will always be in my Top 10 MCU films. It is extraordinary the way Marvel connects its universe and connecting What If? and Wanda Vision with Multiverse of Madness was beautifully done. The spectacular visuals and Wanda going rougue, the introduction of Fantastic 4, America Chavez and so many other characters was a treat for any Marvel fan. After Tony Stark and Steve Rogers retiring, I can say that Doctor Stephen Strange is my new favourite superhero. Or is Thor? Tough choice.
And now we have the TOP 3 films of Marvel Cinematic Universe post Avenger's Endgame release.
Ant Man And The Wasp: Quantumania wastes no time. This is a movie that gives us all of six minutes to ease back into Scott Lang's (an enjoyable enough Paul Rudd) world and get up to speed on the last few years of his life before throwing him into the Quantum Realm to kick off the MCU's latest adventure. I am glad that I got to know more about the supervillain Kang which makes me feel prepared for the next phase in a better way. Well, if you haven't seen this movie yet, make sure that you watch the last episode of Loki before watching Quantumania. It will help you understand the post credit scene (there are 2).
This is an emotional one. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever says a solemn goodbye to one of the MCU's most beloved stars without skimping on the action. A poignant tribute that satisfyingly moves the franchise forward, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marks an ambitious and emotionally rewarding triumph for the MCU. It makes my heart heavy to think that we will never see Chadwick Boseman returning to the big screen as T'Challa anymore. About the movie, the underwater visuals will take your breath away and the villain Namor just tells us that the franchise is far from over and the next installment will be bigger than ever. Unpopular opinion: If not better, Wakanda Forever's underwater CGI scenes are as good as Avatar: Way of Water. (Sue me).
This is one of the best theatre experience I have had and the adrenaline rush was similar to what I felt in Avengers: Endgame. A bigger, bolder Spider-Man sequel, No Way Home expands the franchise's scope and stakes without losing sight of its humor and heart. Packed with action, emotion, and surprises, Spider-Man: No Way Home is franchise fan service at its finest. Andrew Garfield's Spiderman saving MJ and breaking down after that will remain of the best moment ever created in cinema. This film will always be in my Top 5 films of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
