- The original title of “Pokémon” was “Capsule Creatures,” but it was changed due to a copyright violation. It was renamed initially as “CapuMon” and then as “Pocket Monsters.” Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo was captivated by the designs for "Pokémon",  and the idea was quickly approved. Red and Green from Generation I officially introduced the entire franchise.

- In 1997, “Pokémon” was animated into a Japanese television series. The plot follows a boy named Satoshi and his Pokemon partner Pikachu as they strive to become the greatest Pokemon master.
