The iQOO Z7 5G is a smartphone that was recently released on March 21st, 2023. It is a sleek and powerful device that boasts some impressive specs. In this post, we will do a Review of the phone and cover its features, performance, and overall value.

Design and Display

The iQOO Z7 5G has a compact and elegant design, measuring 158.9 x 73.5 x 7.8 mm (6.26 x 2.89 x 0.31 in) and weighing 173g (6.10 oz). It features a Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) setup and has an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and water.

The phone’s display is a 6.38-inch AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 1300 nits of peak brightness. The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of approximately 413ppi. Additionally, the display is protected by Schott Xensation glass, which is known for its durability and scratch resistance.

Performance and Software

The iQOO Z7 5G runs on Android 13 with the Funtouch 13 UI on top. It is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 920 (6 nm) chipset, an octa-core processor (2×2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55), and a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. This combination delivers exceptional performance, enabling the phone to handle even the most demanding apps and games with ease.

The device comes with two RAM options – 6GB and 8GB – and 128GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 1TB via microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot). It also features UFS 2.2 storage, which offers faster read and write speeds than traditional eMMC storage.

Camera

The iQOO Z7 5G has a dual-camera setup on the back that comprises a 64MP primary sensor with 1/1.97″, 0.7µm pixels, PDAF, and OIS, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The camera system offers LED flash, HDR, and panorama modes and can record 4K@30fps and 1080p@30fps videos.

On the front, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and can capture 1080p@30fps videos. 

Battery and Charging

The iQOO Z7 5G is fueled by a 4500mAh non-removable Li-Po battery that supports 44W wired charging. According to the company, the device can charge from 1-50% in just 25 minutes.

Connectivity and Other Features

The iQOO Z7 5G comes with several connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP, LE, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, QZSS, and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG support.

The phone also features an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors.

Price and Availability

iQOO announced the availability of the iQOO Z7 5G in two colors – Norway Blue and Pacific Night – and priced it at ₹18,999 on March 17th, 2023. The phone was subsequently released in March.
