iQOO is currently gearing up to launch its next generation Neo 8 series of smartphones in China The company has confirmed that it will launch two premium smartphones in this lineup later this month. Notably, the upcoming is the first Neo series, under which a “Pro” model will debut in the market. Ahead of the iQOO launch, the Neo 8 is teasing the key specs and features of the line iQOO has officially revealed the design of the Neo 8 5G. Reportedly, the phone will feature a square-shaped camera module on the back with a triple-camera setup. And now the company has revealed some details about the iQOO Neo 8 Pro. Let's take a look at them.
The iQOO Neo 8 Pro is confirmed to be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus processor. This new MediaTek flagship chipset is based on a 4 nanometer fabrication process and offers a maximum clock speed of 3.35 GHz. It has a Cortex X3 Prime core, three Cortex A715 cores running at 3.0 GHz and four Cortex A510 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. For enhanced graphics, Mali G715 GPU is included.
iQOO has released the AnTuTu benchmark performance scores of the Neo 8 Pro ahead of the Neo 8 series debut on May 23. Which is claimed to be the highest AnTuTu score among Android phones so far. The Untutu score of iQOO Neo 8 Pro is 13,63,206 points This is more than the Asus ROG 7 series, which scored 13,30,011 points on AnTuTu.
Also rumored, the iQOO Neo 8 Pro will launch with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. And now through the fine print below the teaser poster, it has been confirmed that the claimed Untutu score is for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant of the Neo 8 Pro. The iQOO Neo 8 series will debut on May 23 with improved specifications compared to the current Neo 7 series. The Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro are said to have 1.5K (1.5K) resolution displays. iQOO is likely to launch the phones with a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The devices will have a flat screen and a punch-hole cutout at the top center for the front camera.
In terms of performance, the Neo 8 Pro is confirmed to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset. And the standard Neo 8 5G will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. The series will also use the Vivo V1+ Image Signal Processor (ISP) to boost the overall performance of the phone. The iQOO Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro will run on Android 13 operating system, with a layer of Origin OS 3 user interface on top.
In terms of cameras, the Neo 8 series is also tipped to sport a triple-camera setup on the rear panel, which will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. And for selfies, both the models may have a 16-megapixel front camera. For power backup, both the Neo 8 series phones are expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 110W fast charging support.
